The challenge
The fuel farm needed a clearly defined separation between licensed and non-licensed zones before it could proceed to operational handover. Across roughly 25,800 sq. m, about 7,300 sq. m of unlicensed area had to be physically and visibly separated from 18,500 sq. m of licensed area, as DGCA compliance norms require, while also supporting the compliance expectations of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and BCAS. The fence had to be installed and ready ahead of the compliance inspection and withstand continuous outdoor exposure at a critical aviation facility.
Our solution
Nexus Indus-Shield, our heavy-duty modular fencing system, configured for the fuel farm application: an H-post structural framework, 50 × 100 × 4.5 mm heavy-gauge welded wire mesh, a black-and-yellow safety colour scheme for instant identification of licensed and non-licensed zones, and SS 304 stainless steel fittings for corrosion resistance across all 344 sq. m of the installation.
The results
From award of the order through production, delivery, installation and final handover, the project was completed in 36 days, keeping the fuel farm's compliance inspection and operational handover on schedule. Full DGCA compliance was met ahead of the deadline, and both AIAL, the end user, and NRP, the executing contractor, expressed satisfaction with the solution and its timely completion.
